Words are powerful, so the REVAMP team has carefully chosen the use of specific words that are acceptable for all partners. Respecting these differences, REVAMP uses the terms ‘Intimate Partner Violence and Abuse [IPVA] and Domestic Violence and Abuse [DVA].
The REVAMP project extends across seven partner countries, and as such, terminology changes between partner countries. Whilst we acknowledge that the terms IPVA and DVA have differences, the REVAMP team, agreed that by using both these terms we ensured an understanding where the concepts and training content of REVAMP remained applicable and understood across the seven partner countries.
The orientation unit of the REVAMP training includes the REVAMP partner’s country specific definitions.
